The Wedding Scratcher

$5.15 NZD

Eve is only in Istanbul for two weeks, visiting to celebrate her best friend’s wedding—but her trip gets off to a chaotic start when she chases a rogue cat into a building and accidentally tackles a man in the hallway. That man turns out to be Umut, the disarmingly handsome wedding photographer, and instead of being annoyed, he’s instantly intrigued by the flustered cat-chaser sprawled at his feet.

With the big day fast approaching, Eve and Umut are soon paired up on a whirlwind of wedding errands—from table linens to dessert crises—and find themselves laughing, teasing, and falling into a rhythm that feels anything but temporary. All the while, the meddling cat that brought them together keeps reappearing like a furry little Cupid, determined to turn their spark into something more.

"The Wedding Scratcher" is a feel-good finale to the Cats of Istanbul series, filled with warmth, wit, and the irresistible charm of a city where anything can happen. Join Eve and Umut as they discover that the best kind of love story is the one you never plan for—especially when it begins with a flying tackle and a very determined cat.

“Remind me never to complain again about traveling out of state for a wedding,” Eve grumbled to herself as she tossed clothes into her suitcase. “If I thought driving to Nebraska was a lot of hassle for Clarissa’s wedding, it was nothing compared to this. I mean seriously...Istanbul? If I didn’t love Celia so much, there is no way I would be flying halfway across the world just to watch her get married.”

But it wasn’t really the travel that Eve Shields was complaining about. If she was honest with herself, she was excited for the adventure ahead, and she had always wanted to visit Istanbul. She had never been on a trip, for vacation or even traveling to various conferences about software development, that she didn’t enjoy.

Her objection was to the idea of traveling for a wedding. Because as any of Eve’s friends knew, if you wanted to hear one of her signature rants, the best way to ensure it was by bringing up the topic of marriage, and specifically weddings.
